King of the Hammers | Behind the Scenes

We had the privilege of shooting for Hammer King Productions at one of the world’s most challenging races, King of the Hammers!  The shoot lasted 8 days for us.

Our job, simple… we were the “camera movement team.”  We were able to bring in some of our toys including our Alta 8 drones, black arm, cable cam and drone LED lighting rig.

The hardest part of the entire shoot was battling the elements!  Dust!… so much dust!  Keeping our gear and lenses clean was critical to ensure gear operated normally!  The best part of the shoot… the weather!  Got to love that Southern California weather!  Most days we saw comfortable temperatures ranging between 70-80 degrees F.

The race itself is huge!  Almost 200 miles per lap!  King of the Hammers is also considered one of the hardest races in the world.  To learn more about this incredible race, check out Ultra 4 Racing.

Despite the challenges on this shoot, the experience and the content we captured, made it so worth it in the end!
