Serafina and the Twisted Staff

This aerial video shoot was a cool shoot for Bonesteel Films again, creating a creative piece for Disney.  The shoot was shot in Dupont, NC right outside of Brevard.

The creative piece is a book trailer for the selling novel, “Serafina and the Twisted Staff.”  We had the privilege of having the author, Robert Beatty on set, along with his daughter who was the lead role in the book trailer.

We used our Freefly Systems Alta 6, along with MoVi M5 to fly the Sony A7s.  Shooting aerials in Dupont is always a privilege.  So many beautiful elements to fly through.  From gentle to rushing waterfalls, to wide open lakes, to mountain top vistas.  I will say there’s quite a bit of hiking involved since most of these locations are off the beaten path.  Time to bring out the pack mules… I mean PAs.  Everyone was able to pitch in and help with carrying gear, which made life a bit easier.

Our shots for the day included flying a bird’s eye view over a river while rotating camera over talent providing a spiral effect.  Other shots were simple dolly shots over a rushing waterfall, revealing the talent.  The last shot was flying past the talent and off of the mountain top.  Great imagery all around!

So by the end of the day, we hiked over 5 miles and climbed up a 1,000 ft elevation.  Not bad… not bad indeed.

Call us for an aerial quote.
